A ONE-TICKET system for Putra and STAR-LRT and their feeder buses is expected to be in place by the end of the year, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy said.

This, he said, was among the steps taken to ensure that the public transport system in the Klang Valley was more efficient.

He said the Government had started drafting a Bill to enable the setting up of the Urban Transportation Authority, which would place enforcement and monitoring activities under one central body.

He also said a task force was studying the various problems faced in the public bus system, which included long waiting time, poor condition of the buses and poor service.
