PETALING JAYA: A decomposed body of a man, believed to be fugitive G. Francis Udayapan, was recovered near Taman Angkasa in Puchong yesterday.

The body was clad in a pink T-shirt with the IPK KL lock-up sign and a blue underwear. No document was found on the body, with the right hand and half the head missing.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Zul Hasnan Najib Baharudin said police have yet to ascertain the man's identity.

On April 16, Francis, who was arrested for robbery, was said to have jumped from the first floor of the Brickfields police station while being led to a room.

It is learnt that he escaped from an opening in the fence before jumping into Sungai Klang behind the station.

Meanwhile, the skeletal remains, believed to be that of a woman, was found in some bushes in Taman Cempaka, Ampang.

Police found a brassiere among the remains.

Police believed the victim was murdered elsewhere before the body was abandoned in the bushes some six months ago.
