KUALA LUMPUR: A Government backbencher will be more suitable than an Opposition MP to chair the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in Parliament as he would better understand the workings of the Government, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz.
According to parliamentary conventions, the Backbenchers Club (BBC) chairman usually held the post, he told reporters in the Parliament lobby on the sidelines of the swearing-in ceremony of MPs yesterday.
