SHAH ALAM: The initial public survey by the Royal Commission on Police shows corruption as the root cause of problems inflicting the police force, said commission deputy chairman Tun Hanif Omar.
Many of the 400-odd complaints received by the commission touched on corruption. It seems to be a serious matter resulting in a lot of grouses about bribery in the lock-ups, selective attention given to special people, inaction on the part of the police and abuse of power, he said.
