KUALA LUMPUR: Illegal bookies who are expected to cash in on next month’s European Championship football tournament in Portugal are being targeted by police who have set up special units to crack down on their activities.
CID Director Comm Datuk Musa Hassan said intelligence gathered by his officers revealed that these syndicates, which rake in millions of ringgit, were preparing for football’s biggest event of the year.
