PENANG: Malaysia will study the feasibility of setting up a research station in Antarctica, estimated to cost between RM10mil and RM20mil, National Antarctic Research Programme co-ordinator Prof Dr Azizan Abu Samah said.
“Just like buying a house, there are many pros and cons to such a venture. If we have a ‘home’ in the Antarctica, we can play host to other countries, which are not part of the Antarctic community by enabling them to pursue science there,” he said.
