MTUC: Safety panels a failure

PETALING JAYA: A recent Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) survey found that only 10% of occupational safety and health committees in 400 workplaces are actively involved in promoting a safer and healthier working environment. 

MTUC secretary-general G. Rajasekaran said only 10% were carrying out regular meetings on safety problems, occupational health issues and implementing new measures to promote safety at the workplace.
