Riau and Malaysia to share intelligence to combat sea crimes

KUKUP: Indonesian and Malaysian marine police have agreed to enhance direct communication at the regional level and joint patrols to stamp out piracy and human trafficking in the Straits of Malacca. 

Describing the problems as transboundary crimes which needed bilateral co-operation to be resolved, both the Riau and Malaysian southern region marine police also agreed to have a daily exchange of intelligence and biweekly meetings between high-ranking officials.
