PETALING JAYA: The first 6,000 participants of Ipoh Starwalk 2004 will receive Sloans energy cream, which can be used to warm up their muscles before the event.
The product, courtesy of Upha/CCM Pharma Group of Pharmaceuticals Company, is worth RM6,000. The company is also sponsoring 2,000 T-shirts worth RM12,000 for the inaugural Ipoh Starwalk.
The companys brand manager, Weeli Choo, said Sloans energy cream could also be used for sprains.
Since my company is a pharmaceutical company which produces various healthcare products, our sponsorship is in line with the companys policy of promoting a healthy lifestyle, Choo said when presenting the sponsored items at Menara Star yesterday.
The 5km fun walk will be held in conjunction with the 76th birthday celebrations of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, on April 25.
The walk, which is expected to be the largest sporting event in Perak, is organised by The Star and endorsed by the Perak government and Ipoh City Council with Suzuki, DiGi, Pensonic, 100 Plus, Spritzer, Pallas, Sloans, MY FM, Mix FM and Solarela as the main sponsors.
The Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Nazrin Shah, will flag off the walk at Dataran Ipoh at 7am.
A variety show will keep participants and their families entertained.
Lucky prizes worth RM50,000 are up for grabs.
Among the prizes are three Suzuki Smash motorcycles, a giant hamper, four Solarela solar water heaters, Pensonic electrical products and DiGi mobile phones.
Entrance fee is RM5 and entry forms can be obtained in The Star newspaper.
The forms are also available at The Stars office in Ipoh at 39, Jalan Hussein.
