KOTA KINABALU: Locals and foreigners are falling prey to syndicates offering private services to acquire Malaysian identity cards.
Some people have paid up as much as RM400 for an identity card only to find out that they had been cheated by tricksters, some of whom have been arrested by police and immigration officials during raids here and in Papar and Tuaran recently.
