MALACCA: A police officer's refusal to be tempted by a bribe of RM4,000 led to the crippling of a illegal gambling syndicate operating in Paya Rumput last week.
State police chief Senior Asst Comm I Datuk Christopher Wan said two men claiming to be Datuks had approached ASP Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri, an officer with the Malacca CID, at the state police headquarters on March 24.
