KUALA LUMPUR: For one who has loads of accolades and achievements, pop diva Siti Nurhaliza's decision to branch off to TV production was purely because of interest and curiosity.

“I always had a secret wish that I would produce my own programmes one fine day. There is nothing elaborate about my productions, only something exclusive for my fans,” said Siti at the launching of Selebriti Sukan and 3D Siti, the two TV shows produced by Siti Nurhaliza Productions (M) Sdn Bhd.

Prolific drama/film director Rashid Sibir directed the two programmes.

“I am grateful to RTM for giving me the chance to venture into the production line. They have given us a 50-hour slot, out of which 27 hours have been utilised,” said the 25-year-old producer who conceptualised the programmes.

Selebriti Sukan zooms in on sports personalities while celebrities will play host in each episode. The half-an-hour slot slated for 26 episodes looks at the success of each sports personality and the different types of sports.

“Hopefully this show will inspire aspiring sportsmen to take up sports professionally,” said Siti, who first proved her credentials as a producer in Muzikal AidilAdha which was screened on Hari Raya.

3D Siti will bring Siti's fans closer to their idol as this programme will also highlight exclusive interviews with her. Other segments that will have fans glued to their seats are Nostalgia, Gossip, Jejak, Famili and Idola.

Siti will also launch her first “free” nationwide concert on June 13 at 20 venues.

To date, Siti has 17 albums (solos and compilations) and garnered an astounding 92 local and international awards.
