Water supply from Semenyih plant restored

KUALA LUMPUR: Raw water quality at the Semenyih water treatment plant has been restored and the plant has resumed full operations after it was shut down on Friday following pollution at the raw water source. 

The shutdown caused supply disruption in several areas in Petaling, Sepang, Hulu Langat and Kuala Langat districts. 

“The raw water quality was restored at 6pm on Saturday and the plant resumed full operations at 12.30am,” PUAS general manager (operations) V. Subramaniam said in a statement yesterday.  

The plant began to supply water to consumers at 3am on Saturday. 

“However, some areas still facesupply disruption.  

“Water supply is expected to be fully restored in stages,” he said.
