KUCHING: Lanang MP Tiong Thai King has been tipped to replace Datuk Robert Lau Hoi Chew as the new Sibu Municipal Council chairman. Lau has been made Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister.
It is not known if Tiong, an executive director of the Rimbunan Hijau group, is keen to take up the full-time job with the council. If so, he would also have to resign as the Rejang Port Authority (RPA) chairman.
