IPOH: Asst Supt Abdul Razak Mohd Yusoff recited verses from the Quran to calm down Al-Ma’unah leader Mohamad Amin Mohamad Razali during the Bukit Jenalik, Sauk, gun heist and hostage drama in 2000.
“Among the verses I recited to Mohamed Amin and his men during negotiations, which lasted almost two-and-a-half-hours, were to make him realise what he was doing was forbidden by Islam,” said ASP Abdul Razak.
