MIRI: The people need not be worried over the red tide occurring in the waters off the coast of northern Sarawak as it is formed by non-toxic plankton, a fisheries official said.

The red tide, believed to have drifted into Miri waters from Brunei, is caused by the blooming of Cochlodinium polykrikoides, according to the Sarawak Marine Fisheries Department’s management and resource protection head, Awangku Isa Pengiran Hamjah.
