IPOH: People’s Progressive Party president Datuk M. Kayveas said the Anti-Corruption Agency report against him made by former Ampang Jaya Municipal Council enforcement director Abdul Kudus Ahmad was politically motivated.

He said he believed the report was made against him only now that the general election was near.

He also noted that Abdul Kudus had engaged a lawyer who is a DAP member, for his corruption trial.

Kayveas was commenting on the ACA report made by Abdul Kudus alleging him to have corruptly accepted money from the owner of a restaurant in Pandan Indah.

Kayveas has been widely credited as being the person responsible for exposing alleged corruption that led to Abdul Kudus’ sacking by the council last year.
