THE charges imposed by commercial banks for cash advances and cashing of cheques should be stopped as these institutions are reporting high profits every year, according to a report in Tamil Nesan.
Quoting Consumer Association of Penang president S.M. Mohd Idris, it said that the banks were “making a lot of money” by levying a charge for these services which were provided free to customers previously.
