NEW YORK: Peace and labour activists will hold a national day of protests on Tuesday in 20 cities across the United States against what they call war profiteering in Iraq by companies with close ties to the Bush Administration, like Halliburton and Bechtel.
The organisers say that while those companies are raking in billions in Iraq reconstruction contracts, Iraqs infrastructure is still not functioning: schools and hospitals are in disrepair, the phones dont work, electricity is intermittent and the water is not safe to drink.
