PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court has fixed March 18 for mention of a petition by lawyer Datuk Zaid Ibrahim to challenge the validity of the Terengganu Syariah Criminal Enactment (Hudud and Qisas), gazetted on Oct 27 last year.
Justice Pajan Singh Gill, who fixed the date, also ordered that the relevant documents on the petition be filed within a month. Among the matters raised during the summons for directions yesterday was whether another petition challenging the 1993 Kelantan Syariah Enactment be heard together with the current petition.
