Loophole in fight against log smuggling

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malay-sian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) will find out if it has the legal rights to enter Free Trade Zone (FTZ) areas and curb transhipment of illegal Ramin logs. 

Primary Industries Minister Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik said there was a loophole in the current laws which did not permit MTIB officials to enter FTZ areas.
