KUALA LUMPUR: It was the fourth time in six months that the landfill in Jinjang Utama here burst into flames but yesterday's blaze was likened to a “volcano which had erupted.”

City Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Abu Obaidat Mohamed said the first fire engine arrived within five minutes of the call from a member of the public at 6.20pm but the fire, measuring some 20m, had by then spread rapidly due to strong winds.
