ALOR STAR: Nine sick chickens taken for laboratory tests from a farmer, who dumped more than 100 chicken carcasses into the Sedaka River in Yan last month, did not have the avian flu.
Kedah Veterinary Services Department director Dr Quaza Nizamuddin Hassan Nizam said the birds, which were taken from Ismail Shaari’s farm in Jalan Sedaka last Wednesday, all tested negative for the disease.
