PENANG: As a madcap contractor in the popular sitcom Phua Chu Kang, Singaporean actor Gurmit Singh has brought much laughter into our living rooms.

But few people know that the 39-year-old award-winning artiste has a big heart and is happiest when his acting brings joy to children with terminal illnesses.
