NEWS reports from Singapore have alleged that coastal villages in Johor along the Tebrau Straits are being used as bases to smuggle illegal immigrants into the island republic, Nanyang Siang Pau reported.
Fishermen are accused of playing “spy” for snakeheads (a term referring to those who organise human smuggling) by observing and recording the duty hours of the Singapore marine police patrol.
