KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia should use the upcoming seventh Conference of Parties to the Convention of Biodiversity (COP7) meeting as a good opportunity to discuss the issues of species loss and make the conservation of biodiversity top priority instead of adopting reactive approaches.
Malaysian Nature Society executive director Dr Loh Chi Leong said it was a great privilege for the country to host this large-scale meeting as Malaysia was one of the 12 mega-diverse countries.
