ALOR STAR: Thick smoke from the open burning of padi stalks caused a 21-vehicle pile-up at the 59.8 kilometre stretch of the North-South Expressway near here yesterday.
Kota Star traffic investigating officer Chief Insp Barudin Wariso said the accident happened at about 1.20pm on the south-bound lane near Tokai, about 10km from here.
