Canny's mum feels the pain

PETALING JAYA: When she heard about the rape and murder of 10-year-old Nurulhuda Abdul Ghani, former schoolteacher Pearley Visvanathan shuddered. Her own daughter was a victim of a gruesome rape and murder last year. 

The case of Canny Ong, whose burnt remains were found in a culvert days after she was reported missing from a basement car park in Bangsar, angered the whole nation but it did not stop perpetrators from pouncing on more victims.
