KUALA LUMPUR: In a move to ensure accountability and to prevent abuse of power, the police have drawn up procedures for the issuing of summonses for traffic violations by their non-traffic officers and personnel who were recently empowered to do so.
Federal traffic police chief Senior Asst Comm II Koh Hong Sun said the procedures include requiring all officers and personnel to lodge police reports with the traffic police after witnessing an offence.
