THE Malaysian Chinese community, led by the MCA and Gerakan, greeted the appointment of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as the Deputy Prime Minister with a chorus of praises, saying that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi picked the right man to be his deputy.
Sin Chew Daily and Nayang Siang Pau reported that MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting and Gerakan party chief Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik, in pledging their support for the Deputy Prime Minister, agreed that Najib was the most suitable person to assume the No. 2 post.
