Three killed in crash after Xmas celebration

PORT DICKSON: Three friends were killed in a car accident along Port Dickson–Seremban road bypass early yesterday morning after celebrating Christmas. 

Lee Bak Wei, 19, Wong Meng Wei, 17, and Yong Kong Sik, 15, suffered severe head and body injuries after their car rammed into a tree. 

Wong was killed on the spot. Lee died on the way to the Port Dickson Hospital and Yong died at the Seremban Hospital. 

Yong a student in New Zealand and had returned home for the holidays. He had joined his two friends for an outing. 

The driver was believed to have lost control of the car. Two of the victims were thrown out of the car due to the impact. Yong, who has a driving licence from New Zealand, is believed to have been the driver. 

State traffic chief Asst Supt Abdul Majid Abdul Manaf said police were investigating whether an underage person had been allowed to drive the car without a driving licence.
