THE Chinese community will hold a 1,668-table dinner, believed to be one of the largest functions ever staged in the country, on Saturday in honour of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
The dinner, jointly organised by the country’s five Chinese-based political parties and seven major Chinese guilds and associations at the national stadium in Bukit Jalil, will be telecast live by RTM, according to leading Chinese dailies including Nanyang Siang Pau, Sin Chew Daily and China Press.
