SHAH ALAM: Perak Raja Muda Raja Nazrin Shah heads the list of 184 recipients of awards to be conferred in conjunction with Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah’s 58th birthday on Saturday.
He will receive the Darjah Kerabat Kelas II (DKII).
Two public figures will be bestowed the Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (SPMS), which carries the title Datuk Seri.
They are Chief Justice Tan Sri Datuk Seri Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim and Armed Forces chief Jen Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin.
The Datuk Setia Sultan Sharaffudin Idris Shah (SSIS), which carries the Datuk Setia title, will be conferred on Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad chairman Datuk Seri Syed Anwar Jamalullail and Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy is among the 18 to be awarded the Datuk Paduka Mahkota Selangor (DPMS), carrying the title Datuk.
Others include Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation vice-chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, Deputy Information Minister Datuk Zainuddin Maidin, Senator M. Ratnam, Kampung Tunku state assemblyman Dr Wong Sai Hou, Anti-Corruption Agency investigation department head Datuk Nordin Ismail and state Education Department director Yusoff Harun.
Another 18 people will receive the Datuk Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (DSIS).
Among them are Bukit Gasing state assemblyman Lim Thuang Seng, Subang Jaya Municipal Council president Hakim Borhan, SSIC Berhad general manager Jabar Ahmad Kembali, Selangor deputy mufti Abdul Majid Omar, Badan Warisan Malaysia secretary Henry Barlow and Nanyang Siang Pau group chief editor Hoong Soon Kean.
The Setia Mahkota Selangor (SMS) will be bestowed upon 30 people.
They include state legal adviser Badariah Hassan, Ampang Jaya Municipal Council president Ramli Mahmud, state Immigration Department chief Che Mamat Abdullah; Kuala Selangor Umno division chief Mohd Daud Tarihep, Selangor Puteri Umno chief Nora Azmin Radzuan, Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital senior consultant Dr M.Thirumal and Selangor Works Department deputy directorNg Lian Been.
The Raja Muda’s tutor Cecilia Kenny-Canning is among the 28 recipients of the Setia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (SIS).
Others include motor sportsman Karamjit Singh, National Leprosy Centre chairman Dr M.S. Kalyani, Selayang Fisheries Association chairman Chia Chian Koon, Star Publications (M) Bhd marketing executive Loo Phan Kooi and Malaysia Youth Council secretary-general Norizan Sharif.
The Ahli Mahkota Selangor (AMS) will be awarded to 41 people. Among them are Radio Malaysia Selangor broadcasting chief Norbaiyah Baharudin, Subang MCA Youth chief Lee Wei Kiat and Kampung Endah village chief Mustapin Mohd Aris.
A total of 32 people will receive the Ahli Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (AIS).
They include Selangor traffic police chief Deputy Supt Shamsudin Mat; artiste Azman Yusof, Petaling Jaya Municipal Council football coach Dollah Salleh and Kelana Jaya Utara MIC branch chairman G. Vimalah.
Twelve people will receive the Bintang Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (BPC).
Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo said only people of outstanding qualities who had contributed their services to the state were selected for the awards.
He said the process of selecting the successful candidates were very stringent and only those who had met the criteria were selected.
“This is why the award list has shrunk over recent years,” he told reporters at a press conference here yesterday.
