85,000 candidates picked for national service’s first batch

KUALA LUMPUR: Today, 85,000 people born in 1986 will find out that they have been selected for the inaugural national service programme. 

All 17-year-olds can check if they are on the list via hotline service, short messaging service (SMS) and website search by providing their identity card number. The list of selected candidates would also be published in certain newspapers next week.
