Forum to discuss laws against terror

KUALA LUMPUR: A forum on “Anti-Terrorism Laws and National Security” will be held at the Bar Council auditorium in Jalan Leboh Pasar here at 7.30pm today. 

The forum, jointly-organised by the Bar Council, the National Human Rights Society and Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram), will discuss the recent anti-terrorism provisions in the Penal Code and Anti-Money Laundering Act. 

It will be chaired by senior lawyer Raja Aziz Addruse and the speakers are Tommy Thomas and Edmund Bon representing the council, Sivarasa Rasiah from Suaram, MTUC financial secretary A. Sivanandan, Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants president Beh Tok Koay and Malaysiakini editor-in-chief Steven Gan.
