KUCHING: Six bills including the state Budget will be tabled at the next sitting of the State Assembly beginning on Monday, Speaker Datuk Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar said yesterday.
The Budget will be tabled by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance and Public Utilities Minister Tan Sri Dr George Chan, who will also table the Electricity (Amendment) Bill.
The other bills to be introduced are the Sarawak Rivers (Amendment) Bill by Infrastructure Development and Communications Minister Datuk Wong Soon Koh, Wildlife Protection (Amendment) Bill by Social Development and Urbanisation Minister Datuk Dr James Masing and Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (Amendment) Bill and Public Parks and Greens (Amendment) Bill, both by Agriculture and Food Industries Minister Datuk Adenan Satem.
Asfia also said 153 oral questions will be posed during the week-long sitting.
The Agriculture and Food Industries Ministry will receive the highest number of questions at 27, followed by the Finance and Public Utilities Ministry and the Chief Minister’s Department with 21 each.
At the other end of the scale, the Industrial Development Ministry will receive three questions and the Housing Ministry only two, Asfia said.
He added that four days – Dec 9 to 12 – would be set aside for the questions.
