KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court has granted bail to a British businessman who was charged in the lower court last month for evading RM1.8mil in duties of six luxury cars and forgery.

Justice Abdul Kadir Musa allowed Simal Khetshi Popat’s application to be released from detention pending his trial, which is scheduled to begin on July 19, on the condition that a Malaysian citizen would post a RM250,000 bail for him within the next seven days.
