KUALA LUMPUR: Workers have managed to blast the boulders which have been perching precariously halfway up the slope of Wednesday’s rockfall at the 21st km of the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), thus stabilising the area and allowing clearing works to be carried out safely.
Officials at PLUS Expressways Bhd, the concessionaire of the NKVE, are also keeping their fingers crossed for good weather from now so that clearing of some 100,000 cubic metres of rock would continue speedily and the expressway reopened by the two-week deadline.
