BAGAN SERAI: Banning errant motorists from driving for up to five years and imposing higher fines will be considered as ways to teach such road users a lesson in safe driving, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.
Visibly upset over the number of road fatalities recorded under Ops Sikap V during the Hari Raya period, the Prime Minister said the proposals for stiffer penalties would be considered if the present summonses were found to be ineffective in curbing reckless driving.
