PENANG: Modern technology has made Hari Raya more meaningful for the family of Wan Mahmood Wan Hussein, as they can now celebrate the festive occasion with their son although he is thousands of kilometres away in Scotland – thanks to video-conferencing.

Wan Indra, 26, a software engineer at Motorola in Livingston, Scotland, had only celebrated Hari Raya with his family in Gurun, Kedah, once in 2001 after he went abroad in 1996.
