KUALA LUMPUR: A journalist with The Star, Catherine Siow, is one of three to win an international prize for extending public awareness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the fastest growing cause of death in the world’s advanced economies and predicted to be the world’s third leading cause of death by 2020.
Siow won the Eloquium award for her entry “Gasping for breath/All clogged up,” published on July 10.
