ROMPIN: When the first-of-its-kind solar station was installed in Kampung Denai, Rompin, almost a year ago, village head Apil Maulud decided to go without electricity to allow the power to be channelled for the community first.
“The electricity supplied by this station should go to the people, the school and the clinics first before I can benefit from it,” said the 62-year-old orang asli of this village, which is located about 40km from here.
