THE debate among Chinese community leaders and associations in the Federal Territory and Selangor over the pros and cons of the formation of a new umbrella body for Chinese associations in Kuala Lumpur - the Kuala Lumpur Chinese Assembly Hall (KLCAH) - continued to hog headlines of major Chinese newspapers.

News reports in Sin Chew Daily stated that the approval for the registration of the KLCAH had caused a serious rift within the 80-year old Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (SCAH), which was set up to represent the Chinese associations in both Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
