ONE of the key founders of the Kuala Lumpur Chinese Assembly Hall (KLCAH) has clarified that the formation of the new body is not politically motivated or intended as a challenge to the 80-year-old Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (SCAH).

Federation of Chinese Guilds and Associations Malaysia president Datuk Liew Poon Siak, who initiated the move by 16 Federal Territory-based Chinese associations to set up KLCAH, said it was formed as an alternative umbrella body for Chinese associations in Kuala Lumpur.
