PETALING JAYA: Police have seized the passport of a man, who is related to murder victim Jackie Ooi Po Ing.

Deputy OCPD Asst Comm Hassan Abdul Rahman said they required the man’s help in their investigations and they had to take away his passport for the time being.

Police also took the man to the University Malaya Medical Centre for a medical examination on Monday as there were scratch wounds on his hands and neck.

It is learnt the man told his relatives that the injuries were due to a fall from a motorcycle.

ACP Hassan said police had initially identified the suspect and needed more evidence to proceed with the case.

However, they have yet to establish the motive and no arrest has been made at press time.

It is learnt that the police would contact other people, including Jackie’s family and friends, to record their statements soon.

So far, they have only recorded the statement of Jackie’s Australian husband, who found her body at their office in Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara on Sunday evening.

The husband was said to have left the office after sending his wife there earlier that day. The couple have two children, aged 12 and 10.

Jackie’s sister Sherlyn Ooi said Jackie was a kind-hearted and friendly person.

Sherlyn said her mother would be travelling from Penang yesterday, adding that Jackie’s body would be cremated today.

Jackie’s husband could not be contacted for comments as he was mourning.
