PENANG: The Centre for Education and Training in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (Cetree), now funded by the Danish government, is expected to become a national centre in 2006, said its deputy director Dr Mohd Zin Kandar.
Currently touted to be the first of its kind in the world, the centre at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has submitted a proposal to the Energy, Communications and Multimedia Ministry to be recognised as a national centre, he said.
