NO REBUKE: (Oct 22) Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad told the world media at the end of the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation (Apec) Summit in Bangkok that there was no question of US President George W. Bush “rebuking” him over his remarks about the Jews during the recent Organisation of Islamic Conference meeting.
Instead, he said Bush had “regretted” having had to use strong words against him. According to news wire reports and despatches sent by US reporters covering Bush, the President had told Dr Mahathir that his remarks were “wrong and divisive and stands squarely against what I believe in.”
