PETALING JAYA: Refusal by family members of registered organ donors to give their consent is a major reason for the small number of successful organ donations, said Health Minister Datuk Chua Jui Meng.
Citing statistics from the National Transplant Resource Centre, he said there were only 30 successful organ donations last year and only 12 successful ones this year up to May 31.
