Cop: Competent staff can prevent scams

LABUAN: Many commercial crimes such as the recent fake cheque scams in Penang and other states can be prevented with the help of competent staff in banks and companies, said the chief of the anti-money laundering unit in Bukit Aman's Commercial Crime Department. 

Deputy Superintendent Suresh Kumar said police found that the bank staff who released the payments were unaware of the security features on the cheques.
