PENANG: Workers are racing against time to weave 25,000 coconut fronds into a 2km long thoranam (woven fronds) archway to dress up Little India for the National Deepavali Open House on Saturday.
The archway will stretch from Market Street to Penang Street and Light Street, as well as from Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah to Jalan Padang Kota Lama, for the celebrations.
